Our philosophy is simple. We take an anti-sales, no bull approach, built around honesty, authenticity and transparency.
We are proactive and collaborative, not pushy, and quite simply love the area we work in.
Our Managing Director, Paul, started out as a precision toolmaker, spending many years as an engineer, before moving into product design. We understand what it takes to build a career in engineering because we’ve been there. A hands on, practical philosophy still guides how we work with clients and candidates today. That said, we’re continually updating our knowledge and get a real buzz from learning about new technological advancements being developed by our clients.
Our design and engineering candidates are ultimately the blueprint for our success. We nurture great relationships with top talent and aim to build rapport spanning entire careers. You will find us collaborating with industry bodies and educating the latest crop of graduates. We create content and actively engage with the industry which naturally gives us access to a high calibre talent pool. We are not designers, but design enthusiasts with a deep understanding of and connection to the industry. This allows us to look beyond the buzzwords, assess a portfolio in sufficient depth as well as understanding drivers and what makes people tick.
The RHL Experience is human-led, not AI-driven. While we use technology to support our work, we do not rely on it to replace judgement, relationships, or industry insight.

Finding the right engineer for a medical device start‑up
A medical device start‑up needed more than a strong CV. They wanted an engineer who would share their vision and help deliver an ambitious growth strategy.
To balance specialist technical skills with a precise cultural fit, we moved beyond standard job ads. We partnered with the client on a targeted search campaign, mapping the market and approaching candidates whose experience and values aligned with the brief.
That’s how we found Jane*, an experienced engineer migrating from overseas. We then managed a thorough but efficient process, supporting interviews, aligning expectations on both sides and ensuring both client and candidate could make an informed decision.
Jane secured the role and is now a key member of the team, driving their roadmap forward.
