The Role
As a Usability Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the usability of the company's products throughout the full product life cycle - from development through to end-of-life. This will involve:
- Characterisation of users, user environments, and user interfaces
- Identification and treatment of hazards and risks related to usability
- Critical task identification and analysis
- Preparation, recruitment, and execution of usability studies
- Generation and maintenance of documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and SOPs
Skills and experience
With at least two years' experience of working in Medical Device development, you'll have:
- Minimum 2 years working in a related human factors/usability engineering role, such as for UI design, transport, infrastructure, aviation or other industries
- Tertiary qualifications in Design, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Science, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of human factors and usability engineering principles, standards, guidance and regulations for medical devices
- Knowledge of medical device design processes and the integration of usability into the design process
- Experience preparing usability engineering documentation for medical devices
- Experience planning, conducting and reporting usability studies
- Experience with Medical Device QMS or other highly regulated industries
