Quality Assurance Engineer - Sydney
$75 - $100,000 per annum plus Super
Our client is a global business, headquartered in Sydney, involved in the design and sale of a wide variety of products for mounting computer displays -- from ergonomic monitor arms used in offices, to large videowall systems for public spaces like airports. They are market leader for Australia & New Zealand with distribution in North America and Europe. Committed to Quality, they are looking for a QA professional with product manufacturing experience to join their team.
They need an experienced Quality Assurance & Production Engineer, to help ensure the quality of products and manage any issues that may occur. Working with overseas vendors to manufacture products, predominantly in China, they have an in-house product development team of Designers and Engineers.
The successful candidate will have minimum 5 years QA experience with durable products and will likely come from a manufacturing or product development background, with suitable tertiary qualifications. You need to be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes including die casting, injection moulding, metal forming, assembly and packaging. Good communication skills are essential as you will be working with customers, internal stakeholders and vendors.
Experience working within an SME would be beneficial.
Chinese language skills are highly desirable.
This is a new, hands-on role with a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities. You will be a versatile and adaptable self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision, as well as working effectively within a team.
Key activities and areas of responsibility include:
Management of any Quality issues that may arise with product
Assistance with development and implementation of processes to ensure continuous improvement
Assessment of product samples against various quality inputs
Liaison with vendors and team members to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for improvement against objectives including quality and cost of goods.
Demonstrated ability to generate technical documentation
Input to product development
This role will require international travel to visit manufacturing facilities.
You must hold full, unrestricted and ongoing rights to work in Australia to be eligible for this role.
